Idle Brewery
At the Idle White Hart Brewery we intend to continue the use of the on site brewery which was started in 2005. Luckily, we have just the man for it, pub dad-Kev.
The apprentice brewer on board started his trade at the young age of 13 in 1972 whilst visiting Leuven, Belgium, the home of Stella Artois where he spent the Summer season working, mainly for the free samples but learning nevertheless. The interest and passion for brewing began there. More recently and under the watchful eye of a master in the craft, he has brewed five beers locally and will continue to do so for The White Hart.
The current ales we brew and sell on premises are;
IDLE DIAMOND
A Light pale ale with a hoppy
& citrusy palette, a reflection
of the old ‘Double Diamond’,
for those who can remember.
Still growing and learning, not quite an Idle Dog.
A rich hazelnut best bitter.
IDLE PROMISE
A new amber ale,
but who doesn’t like a promise? Ruby rich.
IDLE DIGGER
A reflection on the apprentice brewer’s trade, commonly known as ‘the digger man’.
A dark and rich stout.
IDLE LANDLORD
A strong coffee and liquorice flavoured ale, no true reflection on the landlord as they are hardworking ladies.
